Default Clutch problem, please help

Hi guys,
I have an exedy organic racing clutch on my prelude. It has been on for about 2 years now, and many thousand miles. It is a great clutch, but lately I have been noticing some things... The thing is, I am not sure if it a problem with the clutch or the hydro system.

The problems started like this: I get in the car in the morning, and the clutch feels great! Then I drive to work (~45miles on the freeway) I cruise at about 80 to work. When I get off at my exit ramp, the clutch must be pushed to the floor for it to engage. Same in the afternoon on my way home. The weird thing is, that when the car hadn't been running in a bit, the clutch felt normal. Only after the car has been running does it get really mushy. The clutch pedal has no problem, coming back up, and my reservoir is full, and I just recently changed the fluid.(about 2 months ago, this problem started about 3 days ago)
What do you guys think?
Thanks,
Josh

How much are you looking to get for them?

I have the same problem. I found a leak in the slave clutch cylinder. Are you loosing any fluid? What dot brake fluid are you using? Are you using dot 3, dot 4 or higher?

that seems possible... have you tried bleeding the clutch hydraulic system? maybe there is a leak allowing air to get in... check around the clutch master and slave very carefully for any leaks... sometimes they may consist of something as small as a drop or two, but that's enough to get problems...

Hey guys,
I am not losing in fluid at all. I bled the system, and seems a little better now, but not much It works perfect when it wants too Still unsure what is going on, I guess I will check for air leaks tomorrow.
Thanks,
Josh

ok i have a story:
for a long time i had a problem where sometimes the clutch in my lude would slip, but most of the time it was fine... eventually it got worse and worse, no clue why. without going into the details, it ended up being the master cylinder. however, i was not losing any fluid, didn't seem to be anything wrong... but changing it solved my problem completely. diagnosing that was a pain, but my advice is try to duplicate the problem in a situation other than what you do every day... try taking the cap off the fluid reservoir and having a friend push the clutch and check to see if you see fluid moving in the reservoir... do you get problems when you push the clutch in slowly - does quickly hitting the clutch make it better? how old is the clutch fluid?

What type of brake fluid are you using? Did you have any air bubbles? Good to hear it's better.

hey I was using dot 3, this time I used dot 4, and it was brand new fluid of corse

I have checked the whole hydrolic line from end to end for a leak, but found nothing. The master and slave cylinder are about 1 year old, but it could still be them. Last couple days it is perfectly fine. The problem doesn't feel like a master/slave cylinder prob. I have had them go out on me before and this is completely different feel. This is very soratic, it is allmost like the clutch is actually engaging at different point of the clutch pedal travel, one time it is high, the next it is all the way to the ground, but either way, the slave cylinder piston is hitting the fork as hard as it can(full travel).
Thanks guys
Josh

So it feels better now? Do you think that changing the brake fluid made it better?

could be a bald spot on the clutch... or debris in the clutch housing (from the clutch itself).

hydraulic problems have a way of manifesting themselves in clutch performance though, and i'm sure you'd hate to spend big money on a clutch only to have problems again 2 months later
