Default DA Clutch Problem

i have a problem with my clutch on my da when i put it in gear it doesn't go anywhere but if i release the clutch life 1/2 to 3/4 of the way the car moves but i get a lot of grinding noise but if i release it all the way it doesn't go anywhere it just revs. it was driving just perfectly but i was driving home from work but then when i came to a stop sign 3 blocks away from my house it wouldn't go anywhere. I believe the problem is that i need a new clutch or does somebody think it's something else? and if it is the clutch. how hard is it to put a new one in? if somebody could give me the steps to doing it that would be great. thanks.

honestly, sounds like what happens when the differential in your transmission goes out. Either way the trannys got to come off so I would look at the clutch first just to make sure

so u never felt the clutch slip? if the clutch was never slipping then u probably have a tranny problem. tranny R&R rated at 3.6 hours, it took me about 4.5 to get the job done. pretty simple as much as removing a tranny can be.

i put in an ebay special, stage 2 F1 clutch n flywheel combo, n it grips strong. so if ur lookn for a cheap one, they are pretty decent, 253$ for all the parts.

The same thing happend to me and it ended up being the differential in the tranny. But even if it is the clutch the tranny has to come down, its not that hard to do just get a couple buddies and a 30 pack and you can get it done in a weekend, maybe even faster than that.

its probably the diff in the tranny but who knows, i have seen some shattered clutches cause some weird problems. Before you even drop the tranny, drain the fluid out of it and make sure there is fluid in it. One of the most likely ways for a diff to go is lack of fluid or wrong fluid.
