i don't have the part number.. but just go to honda and tell them to pull up an eg hatch (Tailgate) and just look for the part.

Or since you are from the Bay Area you can go to Orchard Supply Hardware and they have plastic plugs that work great for 89 cents and yes they are weather proof.

i'm pretty sure the plug is made of hard rubber or plastic, not metal. otherwise, i would have bought the oem plug myself and not a custom metal one.

I'm pretty sure you are wrong -- actually I'm positive
