selecting aftermarket brakes?
My brakes are stock on my 01 GSR. I have VGX pads on right now. Looking to track and autocross more and my little brakes don't cut it. Need help increasing my braking power. Any suggestions would help. Would replacing the rotor with cross drilled or slotted help? Is an ITR brake conversion worth it?

Buy better tires. X-drilled won't help, slotted might, but only a little.
I know nothing about your pads, but they're probably better than OEM.
ITR brake conversion will only firm up pedal feel and reduce fade potential.

Thanks for the reply guys. I currently have 205/45/16' Khumo Ecstas on my Slipsteams right now w/ half tread life left. Maybe going to go Azenis next. The pads I have on right now are the Qualitee VGX pads to clear things up. How will steal braded lines help?

Just a more solid and consistent pedal feel. They won't shorten distances or anything.

Allegedly, the brake reaction time is faster, which equals a few feet shorter stops.
Braided lines can trap dirt between inner hose and braid causing abrasion and failure, so don't unless you are under the car 3-4 times a year (probably takes a couple years to wear enough to fail) to check. A MC brace would be a better mod to improve feel some.

Right. It's a Master Cylinder brace. There's some good info in this thread if you're interested...

A wider wheel and tire setup would help with grip, too, if you can afford it.
