think I screwed up my gas light..
I ran my car low on gas couple times (dont ask, no choice) well, ever since then my GAS warning light never turns on nemore when I go low... any idea if I broke something or if it's fixable/how much to fix.. ?
how do you know you are out of gas? Maybe you havent ran it down far eneugh to turn it on? It usually goes on for me when I have less than a gallon left. When I fill up up after driveing with the gas light on it takes 12 or more gallons. And im pretty sure the tank is suposed to be 12 gallons.
I believe I read somewhere that topping off or over filling messes up the float, but I have never heard of too little gas effecting it. On my 98 GS-R, my gaslight has come on, needle has been pinned at E for 50 or so miles and I still have only put 10 gallons out of the possible 13.1 in. If you find out how to fix it, or why it messes up, let us know.
I'm almost postive that they do. I continually run my gas down to nothing, and I've gone like 70-80 miles with the gas light on and haven't had a problem with running out. I'm convinced you have at least 3 gallons once the gas light turns on, from then on I'd recommend filling up. It's hard for brokeasses like me to do sometimes

i've never had my gas light come one. then again i always fill up when i'm down to 1/4 tank. good habit to form.
the light could be out. bulb size is 78 and you can pick it up almost anywhere for a $1 and change.

Are you guys talking about when the gas light fades in and out, or stays constantly on? I've never had it stay constantly on, but have had it pretty empty. Even then, I only could put 10-10.5 gallons in. I think my gas gauge is kinda like yours, but I notice that when I fill it up to the point where the gas nozzle stops, it won't go all the way to full.
