Whiny Sound on Accord
If the whinning sound was never there before, it's prob your belts. New belts will make that whinning sound for a few thousand miles. Give your belts some time to settle/break in and that whinnign sound should eventually go away.

that's true, but if if the whining is really noticable, to the point where your **** sounds supercharged, take it back to the shop and have them adjust the tension a bit. if a belt is too tight it can cause the belt to break prematurely.

exactly.... that low pitched whirring sound is just a timing belt thats too tight.. I had one on my turbo motor that didnt quite fit... made that exact same whirring whining noise....

Alright folks. I went back to the guys who did my timing belt. It was not the belts he said, but the alternator. GRRRRRReat. He told me I do not need to replace it, but said I would have that sound until I did. More GRRRRReat news~sigh~Does it ever end?!
i'd get a second shop's opinion on that, i've never heard of an alternator making that kind of noise unless it was the belt he was talkin bout, but if the noise is relative to your acceleration i'd still say it's your timing belt.
did he actually open it up and check the tension? i'm not really one to second guess a mechanic but alot of em are just out for your money.

I have been to the place that did my timing belt. he told me that is the problem (the alternator), the Hon-Doc(the place that works on nothing but hondas) guy told me he is not gonna look at it bc someone else did the work and I need to take it back to them, OoOoK, I am frustrated with this by now and tomorrow I am breaking down and taking it to the Honda dealership. I also have to have the EGR or ERG hoses cleaned but the dealership said it is under warranty until 150, 000 miles. WOOHOO! I might get a break yet! LOL.
i bet your mechanic is just retarded and forgot to add the word belt to the altenator problem...check to see if its lose.
