Hello.

I am woundering, how much power can handle stock D16Z6 transmission?
Im running a 400hp now and no problems, can it handle a 600-700hp?

I am making about 480 whp and have no problems with my ZC transmissions. The really important part is figuring out your clutch. I tried a really aggresive sintered iron disk and started breaking trannys every 6 passes.....changed to a slightly less aggressive compound and haven't broke one yet (25 passes and counting) I had over 200 passes on my first tranny, I was only making 375 whp at the time, before it finally broke second gear. I was using a copper ceramic style disk. The clutch is the key to making your trans. live.

Later,

I hate to bust your bubble but your not gonna put 600-700hp thru a D16Z tranny unless you bolt a B or H to it

BTW...can we get the details of your 400hp set-up?

two things...forget about the GT37..get the GT35R cause its dual ball bearing and can support those HP numbers...and 2nd ditch the stock sleeves and go with aftermarket ones so you can increase the displacement to around 1800cc.Also,the stock sleeves will never hold at the psi level you'll need to make 600-700hp which would be well north of 40psi.

stock sleeves can handle this kind of power, its all obout tuning and balancing.
If the sleeves are ported wright and... they will hold some time.

I have a costumers car who is running a D engine 531 whp daily.

Its all obout tuning guys.
