The rotor on my 93 LS is making a clicking noise when it idles. It sounds like it doesnt do it when its not at idle. I just bought a new cap and rotor but my main concern is will my car still run fine til Saturday?

Take off the cap & look for evidence of stuff hitting in there. Maybe the rotor screw is working out, maybe one of the sensors is rubbing. Either way it might do some expensive damage.

 

Are you sure you just don't need a valve adjustment? Also, unevenly tightened head bolts can cause the "clicking" sound.

 

I do need a valve adj. but I probably need a new rotor

 

Sounds like its time for a tune up
