Default low rev limiter/no vtec

no one around here can figure this out: my car is a 93 prelude vtec

my rev limiter is kicking in at 6400rpms, and my vtec is not kicking in at all. my ecu is a p13, my head is a p13, my block says h22a1. now, there is no cel on, so that is what has been stumping everyone. we have switched ecu's and switched the coolant temperature sensors. does anyone have any ideas as to what in the hell is going on, or know someone that would?

Check your knock sensor, and timing marks.
A while back i figured out a problem in my buddies car by replacing his distributor.

I know this is going to sound stupid. But, make sure your CEL light works. I have actually heard of cases when the CEL burns out and therefor no one thinks it is throwing a code.

Other than that, you are in safe mode. Recheck everything.

gotta love our cars.

ill check on the sensor and distributor. the bulb is ok, when i got the car, there was no bulb in there. i figured that out when i looked at the ecu and noticed that the vtec solenoid wire was cut. i knew it should be throwing a code, so i put another bulb in there. it threw the vtec solenoid and o2 sensor. i replaced the o sensor and it no longer throws codes. oh yeah, i hate my car, lol
