Rev Limit At Vtec Help
I have an 97 h22a4 just put in skunk 2 stg 2 camshafts. Im running with a grounded Knock Sensor at the moment...I broke the old one off...Took it out for a test drive and everytime I try to hit vtec it feels like vtec engages for a second and then it feels like a spark cut. The check engine light is on and its throwing code 23 for the KS. I think its the KS messing with vtech but is there anything else you think it could be?

Re: Rev Limit At Vtec Help (1bad-eg)
If the KS is good and you have it pinned and grounded correctly then you shouldn't have a CEL for the KS... And a bad or disconnected KS isn't going to mess with your VTEC activation... Are you sure you aren't gettin a code 22 as well.. That's for VTM and a improperly wired or bad VTEC pressure sensor will not allow your rev up all the way and engage VTEC... At this point that's what I'm thinking but i may be wrong... Check into that more because like i said the KS shouldn't be kicking in a early rev limit... Lemme know if you need anything else.. Peace

Re: Rev Limit At Vtec Help (Kataku2K3)
Checked the code again its definetly only throwing 23. Are you sure running with no knock sensor on an OBD2 Ecu will not mess with vtec? Thats the only thing I can come up with...
