I have a CM 8lb that is absolutely awesome. It takes some time to get used to launching it though.....

Flywheels do not decrease drag racing times, please be aware. They are highly advantageous to autocrossing, though.

I don't think it would be too light. Even if you go with the 12lb you'll still really love the way the car revs.

8.9 is a good wieght, if anything go lower if you can, driveablitly is the good, just don't get a wild clutch

I have the ACT 12lb flywheel. If I could do it again I would have gone with the 8.8lb. The car doesn't seem to rev noticeably faster, though throttle response did improve. I can't tell any difference in launching the car than when I had a stock clutch and flywheel as far as having to keep the revs up or it being easier to bog, so driveablity is nearly identical. I'd trade a tougher launch for a more free-revving engine.

How many people here drive in stop and go traffic each day?

driveabilty is a issue for some of us so i'm thinking a 12lbs flywheel might be a wiser choice in these traffic situations. autocross and dragging might be a different story.

I've been in many stop and go traffic situations w/ my CM 7.5lb flywheel. I don't even think about it anymore, I'm totally used to the flywheel.

Right on.

Drivability issues are a myth...we've been over this before. The people who would choose a heavier flywheel over a lighter flywheel either are regurgitating information spit from other misinformed people, or are just strange.

You have to get used to a 12lb flywheel just like a 7lb flywheel...same learning curve on a different driving style, and takes all of 15 minutes. Why wouldnt anyone want the added benefit?

I do stop and go all the time w/ my 12lb. I have about a 40 mile commute to work, much of which is in stop and go. I still wish I would have gotten a lighter flywheel. I have zero problems now, so I would be willing to have a little bit of a problem for quicker response.

Stop and go traffic is no big deal. I'm running a fidanza 7# flywheel. It took me no time to get used to the flywheel, and i love how free the engine feels. Although, it took me a while to be able to launch the car for drag racing, but since I know how to launch it, it takes off like a bat out of hell off the line

I was worried about this when I initially purchased my cm 7.5lb fly. But to my suprise it is very daily drivable. I'd say it's actually easier in stop and go traffic imo.
