Default Please help me upgrade my head for turbo setup.

My setup is a 97 ITR- GE sleeved block, 81.5mm 9.1 CP pistons, Full-race rods, Inlinepro mani, sc61 turbo. Goal is 400whp. What should I do to upgrade the head? Retainers- some say stay with stock retainers because of lifespan, while others say go titanium for higher rpm's. How high will stocks be safe. Springs are a definate, but which ones. I have heard good things about Ef-1. And valves- are the stock ITR's any good for boost. Should I get oversized, and how will they help me with stock bore. What has to be done to the head to accomodate oversized valves? Thanks for any help.

I think a majority of the guys here are going to tell you like I will... that for 400whp your stock ITR head will do just fine.

If ANYTHING, you can eventually do some porting and switch to S/S valves.

However for your goals, this is not necessary. Your bottom end and turbo choice will do the trick.

I would just recommend some stiffer vavlesprings and retainers. Pm me if you want pricing on the ef-1 vavletrain. Paul

I agree 110%. Your stock head is fine for your goal and a 9150rpm rev limiter.
