Just wondering how much a stock LSD would be able to handle... I'm planning on building close to 500whp motor... and need something to put it to the ground with... my stock b16 tranny wont cut it... and it will be alot cheaper for me to buy a ITR tranny than to buy a LSD for my b16.... anyone have any exsperience with that much power... and a stock lsd?
so you're making a dyno queen??????
blah
oh, nm. Someone else posted that. Breaking axles on dyno never really happens because axles usually break from sudden power (launches.) Also bad camber can f'em up too.

thanks guys.... I'll prolly end up puttin longer gears in anyway, so quaife it is...
No need to blow up a perfectly good ITR tranny.... there getting to rare anyway

you will not break axles on the dyno. you will break an ITR diff with 500 to the wheels if you are running 25" or bigger slicks, aired down, and launching hard. either the diff or an axle will let go. for autox, dragging, or roadracing, you do not want a taller gear. the shorter the better as long as you go about it the right way(tire size, rev limit, etc...) longer gearing is only good for low rev limits and high mph freeway runs.
why are you going to put in longer gears.....and PLEASE PLEASE don't say to stay in boost longer!!

well not longer gears just different (MAYBE).... I like the Way the ITR is geared, and might put in those gears with the 4.7 final. This car is going to be daily driven/track car.... so i need the strongest and most durable parts... doing this baby the right way..... Now i need to start looking for a quaife

On 24.5" slicks, in a 500whp hatchback, my friend Allen aka "Hondahvn" broke an ITR diff on his 3rd pass ever down the track. I wouldn't reccomend it. get a quaiffe
