I'm not really sure what the technical name is but i'm talking about shifting without releasing the gas pedal. First of all, how bad is it for your car...and second: does it actually make a difference at the track?

you'll be lucky to shave off .2 seconds, its not worth it to kill your clutch like that.

NO benefits whatsoever. I tried it in my old car once and destroyed the 2nd gear synchro after only 3 passes. My 4th pass was the fastest of the night, and I shifted normally that time. Powershifting is dumb

Its all personal preference. I usually drive like an old lady, but at the track usually do powershift (checked cluthmasters stage III about 10,000 miles after intall and looks perfect). Powershifting is a must if you are on full slicks (IMO)..

when i shift to second i lift almost completely off the gas pedal, not all the way.. shifting to 3rd i lift about 1/2 way and shifting to 4th, i keep the pedal planted.

power shifting to 2nd will kill ur syncros and tranny. i also only ever shift like that when im at the track.

I sometimes at the track powershift into 4th just cause the 1/4 is almost done...but it doesn't really help...like .1 or 2 nothing worth it. Abuse your clutch while practicing launches.
