I got a call from my insurance company last nite. My car was found somewhere above DC inside the beltway. Car was towed to college park. I just got back from the towing company. First the good news, wheels, tires, windows, seats, shifter, engine etc... are still intact for the most part. Bad news, turbo's gone along with everything electronic that controled it and everything that came with the turbo kit, intercooler sprayer , cf hood (replaced with a stock hood.. i'm going to see if the vin is still on it), left front fender, N1 muffler, most of my personal **** is gone also. The insurance company still has to look it over. Hopefully it'll be totalled and then i can just buy it back from them. They took my $5 autozone oil cap and replaced it with a stock one???? but they didn't touch my motor except for the injectors and turbo wtf??? I'm thinking everthing was swapped into another red civic so i'm going to look more into getting the vin from the hood and see what happens. btw, the tow company wouldn't let me take any pictures so i wont have any until the insurance company is done with it.

They might have Pryed your door back with a long pry bar at the top of the door jam and then stuck a coat hanger down in and hit the unlock switch. That is how i used to do it when customers locked thier keys in their car to drop it off at night drop at least 2 times a week that **** would happen.

There are reasons i don't want to work in NOVA area anymore **** just gets stolen all the time, a guy i know George got out of the modifying cars thing because his car was stolen, It was a turbo Si Milano red Metalflake was the color of it.

Thats why you disable your power lock switch, and remove your inner door locks. Make the thieves work for your car instead of just letting them have it

I think they used the pry bar thing and hit the unlock button. I pretty much cleaned everything up in the car and got it almost back running. I'll post up before and after pics soon. Yeah, they took my cf hood and fake cf oil cap and replaced them both with stock ones. I have so much anti theft ideas on my mind right now. I'm getting a fuel kill switch (which i should have had before), hooking my alarm back up with the two sirens, both hidden and to my horn, auto clutch lock thing, locking hood pins and a detachable steering wheel. I just hope no one gets smart and just tows it...
I bought another car today a 96 civic so that'll be my daily driver from now on and its staying completely stock.

thats not how car thiefs do it, they stick a screw driver in the windowpry it out and stick their hand in the door and unlock the car. Honda window flex out like 4 inches before they shatter

you can open any honda or acura door with any honda acura key. My friends girlfriend locked her keys in her car with it running. She owns an integra. We tried opening the door with my civic key. Unlocked the door with no problem. Thanks honda! For making our cars so easy to steal!!!!

EDIT: Maybe not every honda acura key...

well, no, but good trying. if your lock cylinder is way worn down and you have the right key, sure it can happen.. but not "every honda acura" key.

im pretty sure they dont use the coat hanger, but i mean they might since all the wiring is fucked up
the other way they do it is they get your vin, have a friend or just go to the dealer and give that vin and ask for a extra key
they now own your car they can come anytime and go and get it like its theres
this same **** happened to me, MY CAR WAS JACKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. the whack cops still havent found it and i doubt they will

slowhatch4now:

i heard the same thing, that its some mexican guys. I think they're the ones stealling cars around NOVA and DC too. What most of my friends do is put some black tape over the vin# in the front window so thevies can't get ur vin#. I have plenty of anti-theft **** going in my car when its' back on the road. I worked at a honda dealer and unless they're really shady they won't copy a key w/o verified identifcation. I guess there's always a way around everything if they want it bad enough. When/where was ur car taken?

you wanna know how to break into a honda...you flex the windows!!! the windows will flex till a certain point before breaking...and that's just enough for someone to reach in and open the door!! i know because i was told this by a cop when my car was broken into at a club and all my **** was stolen. they left finger prints on my window but the fucken cop wouldn't take the finger prints or check them out. **** COPS and THEIVES!!!

Yeah alot of cars around Waldorf have been jacked by mexicans too. Not to stereotype or anything but thats what all witnesses have said. Anyway hopefully your insurance company totals it for you so you can buy your stuff back.
