Default insurance and your turbo?

Has anyone been able to insure their turbo on their insurance policy? How much more did it cost and what are the chances of them dropping you if you even mention an aftermarket turbo?

I have AllState and they told me that anything that is bolted down in my car is covered under the normal policy. As long as I have pics and receipts for everything, everything is covered.

Does your insurance have to know that you have turbo or some kind of forced induction? Can't u keep it a secret? cuz I plan on not letting them know when I boost..

I have AllState and when I hit a deer in my car the insurance guy never asked about my turbo and all the other toys under the hood. My rates never went up either. How did they find out you had a turbo?

My Allstate insurance man said "why do you have full coverage on your 88 crx?". I showed him a picture, he said,"nice". Told me to get an estimate on how much the car is worth. Got the estimate, the total came to $26,890 dollars. So, I am now paying the price of having a Porche Boxter, or Audi tt. Closer to the tt than the Porsche. I also suspend the insurance in the winter. I pay $200 a month with $100-300 coverage, 2001 ford escape v6 awd 4x4, and a 88 crx hf turbo daily driver. I also have 5 tickets for speeding and a lawyer on retainer. Not bad for having all those tickets. My insurance guy is cool as heck.

i have progressive insurance and they will cover aftermarket parts..but it costs more. Since my civic is soo old with a million miles i have pretty low coverage with it.

I figure my civic has already had a long life...anything more just just icing on the cake.

Would paypal e-mail receipts be enough for proof of purchase? I get a lot of my things off of e-bay and sites like that....what would be enough proof for an insurance claim?
