Iff i take off the umm.. "heat shield" that is on stock headers
will it hurt anything anyway? cuz the bolt that hold it on well won of the bolts
the head was snapped off and it was rattling so i was gonna take it off and leave
it off until my dc's come in.. just wanting to knowif it would hurt anything
i didnt think so but...

 

You won't hurt anything, just more heat will stay in your motor area... No big deal though, not bad for your car, just not gonna help it any.. The more heat that is in the engine area, you basically loose more power..

 

focus on weight reduction and airflow, if you uncork it it will flow

i snapped one of my bolt heads off too...my heat shield has had only two out of three bolts for who knows how long...no rattle for me though

 

You might notice steam coming off your hood in the rain.

 

I'd say to leave it on till your dc comes...........
