Stock Antenna Question
Just had a quick question about the stock antenna. everything still works, motor, etc, just the antenna cracked. is there any way i can pick up another antenna with the plastic rod (teeth) that grip on to the motor. I went to acura & ask how much it would be for just that, they want 140.. no way am i paying that for a thin peice of medal heheh
anyway, just wanted to ask and see what you guys think is best to do here.. ohh and no i dont want to shave off the antenna completely. i like it.
(just in case someone suggest to just shave it off) thanks in advance!

My mom's last car had the power antenna(I am assuming that is what you are talking about). If you broke it, then you have to totally replace the entire unit as a whole, you can't replace only the mast.
$140!!!! No way!! I rememeber I got mines for about $50 I think. Try http://www.ahmotor.com/ They have good prices and great service.
I have my antenna from my GSR for sale. 35 bux shipped to your door..email if interested..

Hey, 58 dollars from the local acura dealership, and you can replace just the mast. Do a search, last week I printed of instructions on how to replace it. I got that info from this site. The title was something like "s 2000 antenna on a type R "
hey dre remember when my **** broke?? well all i pad was i htink 55-60 for the antenna mast and that has the metal antena rod with tip and the little "grippy things" and u would call it........have ferg put it in for you!!
$140 is way too much... The antenna was broken when i bought my car, and i got a new one for 60 bucks only... and that's canadian currency, so $140 US is insane... but then again thieves work at dealerships

Go to eBay to buy the antenna mast...they run about $30 + shipping on there. I had my antenna stop going down so I bought an entire new assembly...man those are a PITA to install. From what I've heard, the mast is pretty easy to install, just get the antenna to go down and feed the plastic teeth in and let it catch.
sorry to dig up old threads but I did a search rather than start a new topic.
My car's antenna snapped off and I never intended to fix it (don't like radio). However, my car got jacked last month and I just got it back from the dealer. They started to fix my antenna because they thought it was part of the claim but when they found out it wasn't, they stopped installing it.
So I got my car back just now and it looked like they took out the old antenna assembly that snapped off. They also gave me a new antenna with the plastic teeth piece that I found in my backseat (Thanks honda!) Now do I just stick the antenna down the hole and let the motor catch the teeth? I just stuck my antenna down and now it holds up pretty tight. My stereo is gone too so I have no head unit to test if it works but does this sound just about right?
