How can I tell?? (rims)
How can you tell if a rim is 4x100 or 4x114 etc? A keep getting little deals on wheels but, when I ask if they are 4x100 or 4x114 they get confused. One guy said the rims came off a civic, then 20 minutes later he said they came off of a Accord. Then I said, "accords and civics have different bolt patterns" and he said just bring the car up here so we can see. in which I didn't, because he sold tires and a few sets of rims and he didn't know what he was talking about. Bad business!
The other person I ran into yesterday had a set of rims and he didn't know the lug pattern either. He just said they should fit, but I want to be sure, so is there a way I can tell???

My car is not around at these times. Of course if the car was there I would have done that. My car has no tag, insurance, etc right now. These deals usually come through my job and friends of friends.
easiest way I always do it when I am at wheel shops is get your cell phone, pack of ciggerates, or even your fist/hand and measure the distance between lug holes on the wheels that are on your car, then walk around holding your measurement and compare it to other wheels...

and then take pics with all the rims.

Find an old worn out hub from the junkyard, disassemble it alot of times after you take the drums off and pull/beat on on the hub the bearings will disassemble themselves leaving you with a hub and wheel studs in the correct pattern for your car.
