just put the z6 head on my a6 block,new valvetrain and stage 2 zex cam everything runs fine but my vtec isnt working, i can here my solenoid switching but no result anyone know what the problem is. I heard u have to run an oil line to the solenoid but i dont know.

 

Are you throwing any codes?

 

no codes are showing I did forget to remove the oil control jet

 

Who did the wiring, yourself?

 

there is no wiring that you have to do except for the vtec switch

 

I wouldn't do the vtec switch. I would sooner convert over to obd1. Because the Obd0 computer does not compensate for the bigger cams. Where as the vtec ecu gives you better ignition and fuel maps when you go into vtec. But i guess if you really want you can just do the switch.

 

Check your oil and make sure you have the proper ammount in there... or even if its old.... i dunno i remember my friend having the same problem and he jsut threw a nother quart in there and it was back up and running.....

I believe that could be your problem right there.

 

As long as you have the oil jet out it should work, but its gonna suck without proper feul maps, like swapping over to obd1. Trusst me, ive been there.
