88 EF9 DPFI Fuel injector problems....
I've been getting error 16 or 15, whatever the FI code is. Also my low rpm acceleration is super bad and the car stutters. Above 3.5k or so, the fuel ratio seems good. At about 5k, i t doesn't have full power it seems. If i stay at that speed for like 5 mins, the CEL will come on and flash a O2 error code. When I down **** the car has detonation or somethig where it seems like the engine isn't getting enough fuel.
I'm gonna go pickup two used injectors and a used O2 sensor at the JY this weekend and swap them in. Any thoughts beyond that or does that sound good as a fix?
Anyone know which fuel injector, top or bottom, is mainly used for the low RPM's?

It did get me to read it, but for the wrong reason. I thought to myself, "I have to see what this retard's SN is." Hahaha, good idea

up from the dead.....no need in starting a new thread. I have this EXACT issue right now. Car WAS giving me a 1 and 16 codes. I changed the o2 sensor and cured the 1. I removed the injectors, traced the wires, everything looks ok....made sure the pins on the injectors made good contact with the plug sockets. I reset the ecu and it drove good for a few days and it came back outta nowhere.
Car gets warm, check light comes on...hesitation in low rpm's, lack of power up top (feels like its being restricted/choked). If I stop and turn the car off, it won't start again for 15-20 minutes. Its pissing me off. I used some Chevron injector cleaner but didn't do a damn thing. Any SURE ways to check the ignitor/main relay? I dont wanna go spend the money for these parts and end up with no cure. When I pulled the injectors to clean them they were sitting in nice size puddles of gas so I know they're spraying fuel, something along the way is cutting the signal to them or something.
Also, the car actually died on the freeway last week cuz of this issue....It stayed running, but as I tried to give it gas NOTHING happened..the car just kept decreasing speed until I pulled over to a complete stop and it shut off. Didn't start for 20 minutes, then ran fine the rest of the way home.

sounds like my problem but I don't wanna replace something and still have issues. Plus my coe for the o2 sensor (#1) went away after I replaced it
BUT, it would make sense seeing as how I can't start the car till it cools down...but does the ignitor have any involvement while actually driving? (would it cause my low rpm hesitation, etc.?)

well that one looks the best of the 2 and i don't think the actual injectors themselves are the problem
BUMP
also seems like alot of people have had this problem turn out to be a bad main relay??
i'm thinking this might be it...

welp, went outside to check all the grounds, main relay box, etc.....and the code for the o2 sensor came back on again
so now I'm back to having a code 1 & 16. The main relay clicks, fuel pumps sounds like its priming (altho it was pretty faint compared to my other Hondas) and car starts. The check light wasn't on yet cuz the car wasn't warmed up, but i'm sure if i drove around for 30 minutes or so she would be a bitch to start up again afterwards
I wanna replace the main relay and see what happens but I'm scared I'm gonna waste $$$ if it doesn't solve the problem

welp I just said expletive it and picked up a brand new main relay for $60 at the local dealer....i installed it and reset the ecu. the car fired up without any hassles and SEEMED to drive better and no codes showed up YET. I say yet because I've reset the ecu before and ended up with the check light after 3 days of good driving....so we'll see how it works out
