Default best All Motor tranny....add all relevant info

For all the tranny gurus and all motor guys, which is the best to start off with as far as strength of the parts and stock gearing, B16 (del Sol VTEC or Civic Si) or GSR hydro?

What would be your dream setup for all motor for the tranny?

Del Sol VTEC with LSD (same as ITR) with ATS 4.9 final drive.

-edit-
if its only for drag I'd go with a ProDrive Drag Spool.

My "dream set-up" so to say for using all OEM parts I guess would be...

Start off with a 98+ JDM ITR tranny. I like Hydro, I like double syncs and I like 4.78:1 FD. Factory LSD is ok for me, Quaife if it goes or maybe a nice clutch type since this is "fantasy land". Then accordingly:

1st gear change to 3.307 (from Y21, S21 or YS1)
2nd gear keep the 2.105
3rd gear keep the 1.458
4th gear change to 1.107 (from a lot of trannys to choose from)
5th gear change to .880 (from YS1)

May possibly play around with 4.92:1, 5.0:1 FD's (but woudn't be OEM of course) as well as tire diameter. All depends on what your purposes are.

don't restrict yourself to just OEM parts on this subject as well.

Purposes, all motor drag racing.

what he said...except take out the 4.9 FD and put in the 4.78 one...4.9 is too harsh...

why would you want to make 1st gear shorter? why do you think the ATS gear set uses a 3.077 instead of the 3.23 stock. traction thats why

A spool is a part that replaces your differential, and acts a lot like a limited slip in that it helps dispurse torque evenly to the wheels. A LSD is differnt though in it allows a certain amount of slip (limited slip), where as a spool allows none. For this reason it is perfect for drag racing, but not to good for handling. You can look at ProDrives line here:

The only other thing I wish I had would be an ATS Limited Slip Diff.

That's bascially what the Quaife gear set is. Lot longer 1st, little bit longer 2nd and then SUPER short 3rd/4th/5th.
