b18a swap problems
Ok, So I finally decided I would go ahead and do the swap (93 b18a with a b20 head). It all went smoothly untill it came time to start it. At first it would crank, but not start... So after awhile of messing with it I kept the throttle floored while cranking and it finally fired, but once you let all the way off the gas it dies. I am flashing a code 1 and a code 4. I replaced the o2 sensor, still no luck. So I tested the distributor how the manual says, and it tested good... I do have 2 plugs on the SI harness that had no sensors on the block to plug into. I will get pictures of them later. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator from the b20 fuel rail with my stock regulator since the inlet on the b20 one was quite a bit smaller. Right now I really dont know what to do... any opinions or ideas would be appreciated... thanks
it's all non obd... I am getting gas, I am getting spark. I am using a jet chipped pr4 ecu... One of the plugs not plugged into anything is a thermoswitch, and the other goes up to the fast idle control valve.

where is the plug that is not plugged in? on the intake manifold? on the 4th or 3rd runner? you NEED that plugged in, that is the IAT sensor, what MAP sensor are you using? what distributor are you using? are you sure you set the timing properly when you installed the head? are you sure the belt is not off a tooth or 10?

The plug that is not plugged in is not the IAT sensor. It is the Fast Idle Control selonoid sensor thing ( http://noisepollution.20m.com/PA170059.JPG ) <-- that bolts onto the back of my stock manifold and the harness plugs into it. Here are the two connectors that are unplugged http://noisepollution.20m.com/PA170063.JPG I am using the stock civic MAP sensor, I do have the integra map sensor though, should I use that? The distributor I am using is from a 91 integra ls. I believe the timing is correct... I followed the steps in the integra manual exactly to do it, then checked it all with the timing light and it all looks good.

As far as the ecu... it's all I have available right now, other than the pm6... When I have a little more money I'll explore my other options.
Edit: Pictures are pretty big... sorry to those of you with 56k

ok that is not the fast idle sensor, that is the electronic air control valve and you NEED to have that on your car, you should use the integra map sensor otherwise your car will run like **** and you should change the ECU the the PR4 asap

That is not the eacv, the eacv is closer to the throttle body, this is on the drivers side in the back of the manifold, and it is the fast idle control solenoid valve... I will try changing to the integra map sensor though... thanks for the help

nah man, that is the EACV, trust me, call acura, the fast idle valve is not controlled by electronics, it is controlled by coolant

there should only be one plug on the back not pluged in. i have to ask the obvious. is all your vacuum right, throttle cable adjusted correctly, all the fuel workin?

its not right because he has a huge hole in the back of his IM, it is also called the IACV, idle-air control valve, so i guess you are part right
