i have a LS w/ 150K miles on it...and i want to turbo it...but i was thinking that...it has quite a bit of miles on it...is there anythin i should do b4 i put the turbo on??

 

hmm...i've heard alot of people say do the compression test and so forth, but what i don't understand exactly is, what doing these tests will do. I mean...like...what will the tests tell me? Will it let me know if i have to replace parts before the install, etc. etc.?

These test's go a long way in telling you the internal condition of the motor. A compression test will usually tell you how well the engine seal's in rotation while the leakdown will tell you how well the engine holds pressure at TDC (top dead center). These are very important for determining the condition of the ring's and valves and also to determine if any of the rods or valves are bent.

 

alrite..it looks like i'll be doing the compression and leak down tests then! hehehe
