Default ARP wheel lug studs

With my new wheels, my 6 sided, hollowed through lug nuts only grip a few threads on my stock studs.

Bought some long ARP wheel lug studs for my 5th Gen and tried to install it a little while ago but got stuck trying to pull off the center staked axle nut.

I pryed the staked part of the nut out and got my 36mm with a Snap On SNH24C breaker bar but just could not break it loose. I just started to spin the axle with my other wheel on the ground and the tranny in gear.

Without having to use an impact gun, is there another way? Or am I just SOL?

I guess I've gotta find time out at work to work on my ride then.

when i took off my axle nuts, i had to have both wheels on the ground someone inside with the brakes on and a 6 foot breaker bar. after that they can off easily

someone on the breaks works sometimes....take a screw driver thats pretty strong and stick it in the top of the roter. inbetween the front and backside of it, when you turn it, it will hit the caliper and stop turning.

I just did it. Guy on brakes, three foot breaker bar, 15 pound sledge. BANG! and it's loose

Oh yeah, have a daring individual hold the socket on the nut.

first time i removed the spindle nut on the driver side it took a 1" 1250 ft lb impact wrench to break it loose @175 psi. the passenger side took 3/4" 750 ft lbs to break loose @175 psi.

just go by a shop and ask them to break the spindle nuts loose for you, shouldn't charge you more than $5 if anything...

also recommend getting some CRC or WD40, spraying that in teh holes, leave it for 5min, it healps a fair bit.
