yea, it's hard, you won't be able to do it by yourself, and most places won't install an alarm that they didn't sell you

actually its not hard but its not easy, you need a wiring diagram and an installation manual. i installed my dei sidewinder alarm myself, just be prepared for some beat up hands afterwards and a sore back. there were some crazy positions i had to get into the hook up a few wires under my dash. i printed out the 32 page installation manual off directed.com and also found a site with a wiring diagram for my car (since i had lost my haynes manual at the time).

cost over $200 at a shop? Most shops around here have alarms for $149-199 installed.

http://www.directed.com has a PDF installation guide the you can print out for their alarms, i talked to hifi buys, circuit city, and two other local audio shops and its the same guide they use. and the average price of what they quoted me for install was about 150
