compustar 2wss-a install difficulty?
You can do it, but u risk a lot of things:
shorting stuff out if you forget to unplug neg terminal on battery or hook up the wrong wires
having a non functional alarm system
etc etc
However, if you do your research, you should be ok. Check out http://www.the12volt.com for install tips & wiring colors, etc for your car.
Read the install manual very carefully - a lot of alarm install manuals are even wrong, so watch out - 1 example that comes to mind is the viper 791xv manual which is filled w/ errors.
You can do it, and you will learn from it, but take a weekend of your time out.
Some tips:
1) Learn to use a multimeter - if you don't know what it is, DON'T install your alarm until you do
2) Get the wiring diagram (color of ignition, starter, constant 12v, etc) and any other diagram and wire colors you will need for your car for any functionality
3) Read a lot on how, where, why ppl are installing their alarms and where they are hiding the brains
4) Get plenty of extra wiring in the correct gauges (anywhere between 12-20 depending on the wire) & connectors or solder & heat shrink if you feel frisky
5) Remember to disconnect your neg battery terminal b4 wiring anything & after you verify w/ multimeter on which wires are power, etc.
