5-speed swap worth this much
Alright i was over at the shop the other day(stereo and parts shop) when i got the news of one of my friends was having the automotive business next door do his engine swap. they charged him 900 dollars to put the motor in and swap to a 5speed. i asked him how much it would cost to swap mine to standard.
he said 450-500 dollars if i provided everything. i was impressed with the swap in my friends car and the only problem they had was getting VTEC to engage(92 ZC 1.5l VTEC). The car runs like a champ and i must mention this was their first engine swap in a honda. Let ne know lude owners is it worth 500$$

even though the install will be difficult, it will be by far the best-bang-for-the-buck. The amount of performance you will gain will be well worth it.
It's definitely worth the $500.... My prelude was once an auto as well...I did the swap over a year ago & it's a night & day difference....The hardest part for you will be trying to find all the parts & I mean all the parts - this includes every single bolt, cable, the clutch line, etc. - It's easiest to have a spare parts car to take all the parts off of. When I did my swap, I took all my parts off a crashed prelude that I bought cheap at auction.
I also recommend that you put in a new clutch while you're at it & possibly a new flywheel...
