88 civic, d16z6, 88 dx tranny, intermediate shaft setup possible??
So I did a search and everything seems to be for b16's. What intermediate shaft/axle setup can i use on a 88 civic dx with stock suspension, d16z6 swap. I currently have a 88 dx transmission. Is this intermediate shaft thing possible and if so what donor chassis? I think an 88-89 teg??? Im not sure.
You don't need an intermediate shaft. On the D-series motors, the drivers side axle is one piece from the tranny to the hub. I believe ZC's came with intermediate shafts, but I don't know if the Z6 block is tapped for the half-shaft.

even if the block its not tapped for that we can ghetto rigged something into it and use the wholes that usually holds the intake manifold bracket.....
as for the shaft.... i beleive we can work something out with a ZC or AWD civic to do so and get rid of some of the torque steer we always get since we dont have LSD

Yeah that is an option as well. That would be much better than having the one long shaft.

OK, I was reading an article in the new Honda Tuning magazine. They were using an intermediate shaft on thier CRX. One difference from my setup is that they are using a ZC transmission. I have also read another article that says you need to use the intermediate shaft if you use a ZC tranny (something to do with the size of the differential case size or something like that??)

Hehe, I like to use hose clamps, zip ties and duct tape. j/k
