Default How many of you have aftermarket HIDs on your USDM front end?

I need some clarification. If I buy a Catz HID kit or something, will it give the same beam spread as most OEM HIDs on luxury cars or will it be just two bright spots? I heard that if you install a HID kit on non-projector housings this happens.

Also, if one wants the exact look and performance of an OEM kit, it is plausible to use one form an accidented car or somehting? If you use the stock housing, then it seems to me that it would be identical. The question is what exactly is the housing? Is it the actual headlight shaped glass or is there a part inside that holds the buld that is actually the housing? I searched but I can never seem to find the info I need. Are there site that might explain this in detail? Thanks.

It will look like your stock lights but thicker and brighter.

If you want it to look like OEM HID all the way then do this http://www.skafia.com

I have a kit out of an A6 on my car and it is just a brigher stock output.

It does not matter which kit you buy because the light is still comming out of the same housing. If you want a better pattern then do the projector retro-fit
