Default need some suggestion on what to do to my engine so its sorta quick

hey, i'm jimmy and i'm new to the boards here.
anyways, i have a 95 civic dx and i have the stock D15b7 engine. how hard would it be to make my car run like low 15s/high 14s naturally aspirated? and maybe a 50 shot of nos. i'd do a swap but i'm 16 and the car is titled in my parents name and they won't allow me to do that.. so any ideas would be great

EXTENSIVE work to get a dx into the 14's. your starting with almost a 18 second car.

150 shot might get ONE 14 sec run

all in all, id say its not really worth the time or money trying to make a quick sohc non vtec. it can be done, but you will have to build the head and bottom end up.

do you really want to go through all that hassle and money to end up with a mid to low 15 second car? you could then run a healthy shot of No2, but that will still only get you into the mid low 14's.

best bet would be to turbo it, or some how convince your parents that a b18c1 swap is a good idea.

i'm thinking about just finishing up my suspension modifications, and hopefully going a while without getting a ticket to prove to my parents i can drive safefully. then try and convince them to let me do a swap. i'd like to do the b18c1 and go naturally aspirated, or turbo an LS engine

good idea. build your car to handle the future power. even a slow civic that handles well can be very fun to drive.

Throw in AEM CAI, Apexi exhuast/header, feul rails, like the one guy listed, after $1500 you could (depends on what you use and lighten the car like ****) maybe run the 14's .5-.9

get a D16Z6 and dont tell them!! it looks the same other than the valve cover and do it at a friends house. get a good header and a apex exhaust. i got a 92 VX with the D16Z home made cai 3", 4-1 OBX header, test pipe, and 2.5 exhaust and hit a 14.9 twice. i havent bod able to break a 15.0 since then but the weather here is a biatch and almost always rains on track nights.

HAH! Your right!

Id say get a VTEC head. high 15s with header.

You can run a 100 shot of nos in a CX motor for about 5-15 tims, I dont know if the DX motor is as durable. There are people who have ran lots of nos in their CX and it didnt blow.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=570758 </TD></TR></TABLE> its called nitrous. Not NOS.
