Default $2500 1/8 drag crx

I have a 1990 crx hf. I have gone through 4 d series engines in a little over a year. I finally decided to set the car up until I had enough money to try something else. The cash flow came through when my brother and I got a 2500 dollar loan from the bank to get things moving with the car. Besides the 2500 dollar inital loan we will have some extra money from time to time to throw into the fund. Basically what I am after is a setup that will at least get me deep into the sevens. I have assembled a couple turbo setups, built a couple drag engines and been in on the building of several domestic drag cars.
The fastest honda here runs 8.20s at a 600ft track the track is 60 feet short and the fastest import runs 7.40s. I was thinking maybe a turbo h22/23 or f22. Or maybe even a turbo b series. I dont really know which engines power band and available transmission gearings would be best suited for 1/8 mile racing.

The reason that I was thinking about an h or f series over b series is because the torque that they would produce may be better suited for racing on the shorter track. I definantly will be going turbo on what ever I decide.

Any advice would be appritiated.

Maybe it's just me, but trying to swap an H22 into a CRX, and THEN turbo it... with $2,500 is going to be next to impossible.

Maybe swap the H22 and stay N/A for a while. Maybe throw on some spray if your into that. And boost in the future...

My opinion... nothing more.

I would say get a b18 and turbo it. Use a first gen b16 tranny. It has hella short gearing. A crx here ran 7.8s all motor with a b18c last Saturday. There was also a 5th gen running 8.3s with just a jdm b18c. The key to the 1/8 as I'm sure you know is the 60ft. Get good slicks with drag launch springs and maybe event he jimfab front crossmember and you could see some really good times.

The reason for me thinking about the f series was the huge differnce in price. I plan on running a tube chassis. I can weld every thing together myself including turbo manifold and all plumbing so basically all that I need is the turbo. I have also lightend the car with a lexan hatch and a five gallon fuel cell. Alot of the interior has already been stripped. and I am trading a wreaked crx for a one peice fiberglass front end.
