NEED QUICK ANSWER ON 4 LUG WHEELS

Default NEED QUICK ANSWER ON 4 LUG WHEELS

if a wheels has 8 holes for the lugs(4-lug wheel), does it make it automatically 4-lug universal or could all 8 lug holes be for one pattern? i ask cuz the following link has wheels id like to buy but he says they are 4x114.3 and has 8 holes. i cant tell by eye if the holes are different sizes. please help, the auction ends soon! thanks

if it has 8 holes it might be 4X100 and 4 X 114 ( well at least thats how my buddy's racing harts are) They fit his 96ITR sus. (4X114) and also my GSR (4X100)

some wheels have 8 holes but only 4 of them are for the wheel studs/lugs. for example my rims have 8 holes but only 4 are for bolting the wheel to the hub. the other 4 holes are just there to be there. weight savings maybe?

no that is wrong. four holes are for 4x100 and the other are for 4x114 like stated above.

just because a wheel has 8 holes doesnt automatically mean its a universal 4-lug. i used my wheels as an example:

as u can see theyre just holes. theres nowhere for the lug to seat.

the wheels in question look to be the same way:
