There is a turbo kit for the car, about 50% more power with ~10% better fuel economy. I have seen some titanium replacement parts to reduce insprung weight and thats about it. Pump the tires up and tear as much of the car out as you can and you can get some great mpg numbers.

I have always wanted to take another insight and strip everything out of it, dash, seats, power everything, someone did this and is getting ~80+ mpg everyday.

You can't just get it off the shelf it was a custom deal, but the builder was sharing the parts list and builders info if you wanted it. I am on a quest to find a nice theif recovery/salvage insight for some time to do a project like this.

Well they are cheap enough used, I looked at a 92 cvt a few weeks ago with 12K miles for 11,500 more then likely could have gotten 9K if I really pushed it. I want dead cheap so I can really strip the car down to nothing, that and I need a 5 speed for my project.

Sorry 02 no such thing as a 92 insight. the 0 and the 9 are right next to each other on the powerbook keyboard.
