just installed vafc2 it works but car is cutting off @ 4000 rpms anyone have any idea why ???

Thats "limp mode" I believe. The ECU is protecting the car from revving too high until some problem is fixed. Most commonly happens when people let thier oil get too low.

Maybe theres a bad sensor connection somewhere?

 

That happend on my sisters beetle before. The o2 sensor was broken. Is the check engine light on?

 

I have checked all connections and the oil level. its all fine everything is perfect the car runs fine and hits vtec fine until the check engine light comes on then the car only revs to 4 grand help please

 

ok so now i find out its throwing a code p 1259 (enhanced dtc) anyone got any ideas ?????

thanks for the help </TD></TR></TABLE> You need to set your VAFC2 to your vehicle's specs. It's in the VAFC manual.

 

you have to connect the VTM wire even though the manual tells you not to. Otherwise symptoms like u just explained will occur

 

anybody know where the stock vtec pres. switch is ????? or where the vtm wire goes

 

assuming you have the English manual, can you scan, photograph, anything, page 11 for me please??? The VAFC2 i bought is all in japanese, thanks ahead of time.

yeah, you have to connect the vtm wire...check on clubrsx for a ecu chart with the spot for the vtm wire

what do you have your vtec set at? i think as long as you keep it above 5200 rpm, even with the vtm wire disconnected, it will run fine and the check engine light will stay off...when you try to go lower than that is when you run into problems (after you hit vtec of course)

 

I love it, people post links and advice without knowing the site doesn't include VAFC2 instructions, BUT I'm sure this guy thinks I'm retarded for not looking. I have looked on their website and I have searched, but to no avail. There are different wires on the VAFC and VAFC2 so I can't use those.

 

Dont worry I dont think your retarded, I was just trying to help. Last time I was searching for a schematic I saw the U.S update posted on the Apex'i site and I just thought it would help you out. Sorry for the false lead or for underestimating of your depth of research.

this is from 03... noone uses these things on rsx,s anymore. or shouldnt at least.
