Default d16Z6 with Y8 intake manifold?

i heard the Y8 intake manifold is the best honda factory manifold for the D-series motor, can anyone back it up?

Yes, it is the best factory d-series IM. Although the z6 is the 2nd best and some people don't think that it is worth the effort to swap the y8 onto a z6.

A y8 IM on a y7 is night and day. A y8 IM on a z6 is a little harder to distinguish. I would only swap it if you can get the y8 IM for dirt cheap.

from the expirence its not worth IMHO on a Z6.

I'd say.........

w/out y8 IM - 122.13 Hp 108.22 tq
w/y8 IM - 122.24 Hp 106.45 tq

finally dyno sheets to prove it.

i wish someone would find a dyno with the differences of a y7 IM on a y7 engine, and a y8 IM on a y7 engine. *crosses-fingers*

Yup. The y8 Intake Manifold is the "Type R" Intake Manifold of the D-Series. I replaced my y7 with it and WOW.

personally, I am running Topspeed/OBX/Konig intake and definatly can see much better results then Y8 on my JDM D15B.
