Default waxing/polishing

I was wondering if anyone could provide any suggestions for a good prep/polish/wax for my car. It's current condition is single stage paint with some abuse to it, light scratches and shallow pocks from tree sap. In low light it looks great, but at night under street lights or in direct sunlight all the little marks jump right out at you and look horrible . I don't mind spending some money to make it look good, just really want to see some good results. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

get the mequiars 3 step paint cleaner, polish, and caranuba wax. you might want to clay bar your car after washing then proceed with the 3 steps. it'll make your car feel like glass

Here is what to do - I detail cars...

1. Wash car, any car wash soap will work
2. Dry, start with windows to emilinate water spots.
3. Use Meguiar's professional #7
4. Let polish sit for at least 30 minutes - letting the oil's soak in
5. Buff - mechinical or hand works fine
5. Wax with Meguiar's professional #26
6. Buff

Your car will look great with superior pretection.

when you wax or polish your car, how do you keep the wax/polish residue from getting on the rubber moldings? or is there an easy to get them off when they do get on them?

Thanks people. I will definitely look into the meguiars, I like their natural shine interior vinyl and rubber protectant so thats an extra in my book. I have also looked at the zaino website before. That stuff sounds pretty good, and i have never heard someone displeased with their stuff. If the price between it and the meguiars is minimal, I might just try it. Anyway, thanks again people.

I like Zaino, but the only problem - it isn't a real wax. It is more synthetic than carnuba. But yet it works well and protects well.

prsi-are there any specific techniques I should use when waxing to avoid fine scratches, or just use a 100% white cotton towel made in the usa and buff in a circular motion? Any techniques for clay bars? Thanks again.

Yes, use a 100% cotton cloth to apply and buff. Circular motions is what causes scrathes and swirls. When applying go back and forth. As for clay bar, do the same. Remember to use a lot of the appilcation soap. Don't use the clay bar if you drop it. Peace, good luck!
