Clutch Gone. Replacement/Warranty?
Well I think my clutch is toast. I got into my car this morning and the thing just went in so easily when I pressed it to the ground. It goes down like nothing 2/3 of the way, then it gets some slight tension before it hits the floor. Before then it's real loose feeling and is light like a feather. Put your foot on it and without no pressure it'll go down 2/3.
I can't get it into gear now when the car's on, and last night when I was coming home I noticed it was kinda tough to get it into each gear when I shifted. I was considering going aftermarket but don't know what would suit me best. I guess I wouldn't mind something that performs a little better and delivers more power than stock.
I was wondering if Acura would replace it under warranty? The car's a 2000 GS-R that was bought from the dealer in Dec. 00. The clutch shouldn't go out after only three years, but I race my car every now and then. You think that would hinder my chances of getting them to replace it under warranty? They might get the idea I race it because of the lack of backseat, the exhaust, and it's lowered. Obviously I wouldn't bring it up.

Is the car still under warranty? Being lowered, having no back seat, and having exhaust doesnt mean that your car won't be covered under warranty....and in noway whatsoever deems your car as a racecar.
I had a similar thing happen on my 96 GSR, out of the blue....My fiance's father took a look at it, and bled the clutch and brake resiviors....once the air was out, the clutch started working fine....try that.....:0)

Sounds good. Yeah it was out of the blue this happening. The night before it worked fine. I didn't sense any wear of the clutch before hand. It was just the next day that it was all flimsy like and I couldn't get it into gear.

Yup -- and it's EASY to fix. Parts shouldn't cost more than 250-300 bucks for the master and slave cylinders.
