I just use soap and water. That usually does the trick. I'm a little skeptical as to whether those wheel cleaners that are "clear coat safe", actually are.

This might be moved soon.

like everyone said. car soap and water does the trick.

The personal trick I learned from friends who worked at body shops was spraying down the rims and cleaning them with a good glass cleaner like windex. It helps to give it the shine we all look for and keeps off the brake dust

Meguirs Chrome/Metal Polish. Little white can with red label. $4.00 does the trick.

I used to do the wash/polish/wax with mine but have discovered a metal polish called maas. you should be able to find it in your Local Grocery Store in the floor treatment asile. It works wonders on polishing any kind of metal.

Soap/water works great. I hear the harsh wheel cleaners can strip the clear coat.

They look shiny when you clean them but they get dirty quick

dont use wheel cleaner, it dammages the clear coat no matter if it says it dosent or not. If anyhting it creates micro abrasions in the coat that mke the rim looks not as shiny. I would use only soap and water, and it it gets REAL bad maybe use a very mild cleaner, like very sparingly on just the real tough spots. Meguirs and Mothers make a good product if you HAVE to use it.

guys you are not "polishing" metal. Your rims are clear coated. So with polish all you are doing is wearing down your clear coat and dammaging it. SO be careful with polishes.
