KS code 23 = no vtec = limp mode = driving me KA-RAZY!!!!!!!!!!
set up:obd1 ls/vtec
greddy 18G @ 9lbs
vafc + 95 gsr ecu
heres the deal, while cruising 4 or 5 gear at around 3k rpm, the check engine light comes on. cel 23 knock sensor right?? ive searched and tried everything the archives said: ground the wire, wire one in and leave it dangling, weld it to a alt bracket bolt, screwed it to the back of the head, ground it while hooked up to the harness blah blah blah......all bullshit!!!!
nothing has worked yet. theyre all honda urban legends. right now i have a custom bracket that alamo made for me. its a 2in thick peice of aluminum rectangle that has a threaded hole for the ks and another holw for a bolt to mount the bracket to the ac bracket on the front of the block.
still code 23, the only thing we havent tried is using a sheilded wire to the ecu. its using a std car wire wired directly to d3. i heard u need a sheilded wire for the ks? is this true, if so where can i find one: fry's, car toys, best buy, radio shack, home depot, lowes: nobody in town has it. i tried them all. and i cant really chip the ecu because its on loan from my buddy.
any other bright ideas peoples???
how do u get a ks to work w/ a obd1 p72 and ls block!!!!! if its the wrong section please move me. also the cel doesnot come on when im beating on it only when cruising, it came on only once on the dyno??? weird...ur telling me
Try this... neat little trick from the DSM world...
Take the knock sensor and wrap it in 3 or 4 paper towels. Hold the towels on with zipties, and then ziptie the knock sensor up somewhere where it will be away from a LOT of vibration and will not get beat around.
Give that a shot and see how that works out. We've done it on a few DSMs that are getting a ton of phantom knock from noisy lifters.

ahaha, its not an urban legend man... It works.. You knock sensor is probably ****.. They break SOOOOOO easy.. And leaving it unplugged will not work.. it needs to sense SOMETHING or it will code.. Get a good ks and screw it back in...
Urban legends.... BLAH.. i wrote that article....

if anyone is in the dfw/dallas area and think they can ground my problems away then i'll buy u lunch
if u fix my problem
any challengers.....
