Default first time dyno today, boost woulnd't go up past a bar - why?

84mm RS machines / DPR b16 dynoed today with tuning by sakai

.82 60-1 t3/4

made 314.7 whp, pretty flat over 300 from 7500-9200 at a bar (15psi)

Here is the thing. We put the boost all the way up to 1.6 bar which should be about 24 lbs but it wouldn't get over 15-16lbs. It was in the 15lb range from a 1.1 to 1.6 bar setting on the profec A. Trying to figure out why?

I have a 3" downpipe to 3" cat to 3" thermal. Is it possible the cat became so clogged from being really rich for a while (driven daily for 300 miles in the 10-11:1 range at part throttle / idle / etc) that it is not letting me build boost? If not the cat, any other ideas? I played with the dip switches on the profec to no avail.

did you try playing with the "offset" adjustment?

no, I thought the offset was just to change what is displayed to me, not what it is actually set at...

as far as I understand it, the offset is for calibrating the EBC so that it knows what zero is..

for lack of a better way to explain it...

I could be wrong, and this might not have anything to do with your problem, but I thought that I should at least offer it as a suggestion...

take the vacuum/boost hose off the wastegate. A quick and simple test to find out out if its your boost controller or something else.

i have the same problem with the Profec B, so i dont know if this pertains with yours. im running a Tial 46mm with 10 lb. spring and it doesnt boost passed 16-17 psi. with high boost all the way up. i found out that im not getting enough boost pressure from the vacuum hose that goes to the controller in the cabin, so i gave it its OWN VACUUM/BOOST SOURCE and the problem went away. i had it previously tapped to another vacuum hose. well hopefully that helps u out a little, good luck with it. peace!
