idle is normal around 1k same its always been. could it be my battery, sometimes when i try to start it, i have to kinda shake the neg. wire on the bat. i think i need to replace that wire. but i wouldnt think it would cause my car to turn off.

I just had a similar prob the other day... turned out to be a few things... def had to replace the batt after i had it tested... but I had a radio put in at best buy (since it was free) and the guy did not put the wires back on the batt tight enough....(and they lost batt support bracket so the thing was flopping around under the hood...not pleased about that...

that plus the crud on my terminals.. plus the batt getting ready to go, was enough. I popped the clutch to get started but on the way home, if I let off the gas at all... it died right there... more than likely it was the batt connection...

Replace that wire and clean the terminals (have the batt tested too for good measure) and see if that helps...good luck!
