Need Help....Quick
i was leaving today in my civic and when i put the car in 1st gear to take off, the car just died on me. i tried to start and like on the 3rd try, it started for like 2 seconds and then died again.
i checked all the fuses and all are good. the only thing i noticed was the wire that goes from the battery to the started was lose. i messed with that a little and the car finally started up again, but then it did the same thing, it died out. i messed with the started wire again and the car started again. i turned off the car and tried to turn it back on, but it wouldn't start again.
could a lose connection on the starter from the battery wire cause the car to turn off after its turned on?

yes, i used to have a 1986 toyota pick up with a 22R and that happened to me quite frequently, all you need to do is get a new wire, and make sure the connections are tight

Re: Need Help....Quick (toonRsi)
Starter has nothing to do with the engine not getting power. It's only used to start the motor. I've driven around for months with a bad starter.
Are there any other symptoms? Does it idle, surge, or barely run before it shuts off? Have you done ANY work to the car recently? Have their been any recent weather changes? My first guess would be that it's not getting fuel but I'm hesitant to say that's the cause. Timing could also be an issue, spark (although it's like the fuel, typically won't actually start just occasionally catch and try to), distributor, etc.
Any more info?
