Oil Pan , what type of metal is it ?

Default Oil Pan , what type of metal is it ?

I've searched this forum up and down and i cannot find what kind of metal my 93' del sol D16Z6 pan is made of. My gramps says it's tin, i say it's aluminum, and my buddy says it's steel. Please help

I think they are all steel except for some H22 ones. Put a magnet on that bitch and watch it stick.

96-00 d series (only vtec i think) is aluminun.

My bad then, I thought dseries were all steel. Either way, the magnet can show you.

all b-series one are steel. So you'd want a steel welding bung.

I was gonna use a magnet but Tin also attracts a magnet. So it was a throw up between Tin and Steel. Thanks for answering my ? though. A steel bung it is...
