Default Anyone in the seattle area heading to Portland for the ICSCC enduro this weekend?

Trying to meet up with some fellow H-T'ers.

Also, anyone want to rent their trailer for the weekend? I need to transport my civic to racetechfab to have Russ start on the cage!

Thanks!

Not going for the Enduro, but several of us are heading down saturday afternoon for the PNW H-T Classic at PIR on Sunday.

Securing a trailer on short notice will be a challenge. Better look to U-Haul unfortunately.

I LOVED the Conference enduros. How long is the Portland race now? Is there one at PR this year?

Kirk... 8 hours with the driver's sprint across the tarmack at noon.

It really is a great show and one day I'll drive a 2 hour hitch. I don't think Pacific Raceways has an enduro, but I may be wrong.

Jeremy... I'll be down around 1pm. If you see Rick da Steward, have him point me out.

8 hours? Waaah!

The best was back when Westwood was still open. There was effectively a 3-race enduro series in the fall. I THINK that they were all 6 hours back then.

Kick some Kahn butt!

I'm not driving or crewing... but will stop by your pit. Good Luck!

Kirk... Westwood would have been a blast and I'm sure the entry/tire $$ would have been much less back then!!

Westwood today:

Yeah my buddy Andrew and Hugh are like arch rivals! Many stories of those two battling it out.

Should be an awesome weekend.

Newell and Golden?

Should be a good race... I think I raced against Andrew at PR my rookie year. He spun out right in front of me in T-8. Of course, that was the last time I ever got in front of him!

EDIT: nope, I'm pretty sure it was Ian who spun...

What a NW thread. I remember Westwood with Kirk and the Renault, and a FF that had oil in its frame...for a while, and a topless girl.

Kirk, I think there is talk of an enduro series again. I am going to prep for enduros in the future.

Jeremy, my trailer can be available this weekend if you still need one. I am not going down to PIR.

Right On! I think Andrew Newell had one of the legs covered (One of the contenders in Pro Spec Miata). Who else?

How was the weather for the race? I got a call Friday night with an opportunity to have a ride in a P3 CRX, but could not justify the cost and the lack of preparation to do something like that on a 12 hour notice.

The race was WET AND RAINY AND COLD AND WET!

The E36 won first in class (P2) and first overall. The turnout was about 1/2 of what it was last year and there were only a handful of P1 cars, that explains the overall win.

Drivers on the E36

Ron Newell
Bob Spreen
Brian Horne
Andrew Newell

The E36 ran awesome, fuel and driver changes were flawless. The tire changes were nice and quick aside from a broken jack with the car in the air. There was a sports racer there that was really fast but ran out of gas on the back section and that is where we picked up alot of laps. The second car overall was 8 laps down at the checkered flag.
The E36

The E30

The Crew

To Strictly Team Racing, Ron had some awsome hats and jackets made for the race, so we were all stylin'

There was a car there that very much had my attention the whole day. It was a 3rd gen civic HB that finished 4th overall. This car was fast! I never had a chance to talk to him or his crew about what engine he was running or go over specifics of the car, but it was really cool to see him do so well.

I will be back next year with Stricly Team Racing for the enduro. Especially since I realized how much $, and the level of commitment and crew involvement it takes to be competitive at an enduro! (read I can't afford to run my own car at one)

side note: Club Exotica rocks!
