Default switch to electric fan?

i wanted to wire a switch to my electric fan so that i cant turn it on or off at will. I wanted to know if what i did was safe. This is how i did it. There are two wires going into my fan motor. One of those goes directly to the negative on my battery. The other goes to my positive, but not directly. There is a wire from the positive end of the battery to an inline fuse, then to a toggle switch, then to the other wire that goes to my fan motor. It works, and I know that this way i can accidently leave it on when i am away. I just want to make sure if there is something im overlooking. It's a 20 amp fuse and the toggle says something about 20 amp too. And the electric fan is stock.
thanks, any info would be appreciated.

I went from my toggle switch to one of the accessory jacks on the fuse block under the steering wheel, then out to the driver's side fan on my twin FAL setup. The other one I have plugged into the factory plug on the pass. side operated by the ecu/themostat/whatever. This way if I take the key out, the fan shuts off. No dead battery. Works great.
