first off make sure u degrease your motor and it is clean of any dirt then get the high temp engine paint with ceramic in it. i would apply 3-4 coats to make sure its on well. That way it will stay on longer and wont flake off do to water and heat.

just get degreaser, and completely clean it back to aluminum. Get a large nap buffing wheel and some mothers polish, and u will have a nice and clean block thats way better than paint.

Just don't paint it black or a really dark color, or else it will be hard to spot leaks.

DEGREASE!!! then LIGHTLY scuff or something so the paint adheres well. here's some pics of my autozone painted block Just spray a few coats of high heat, itll be fine. I like black cause it hides alot of grime and stuff.

prolly have more if ya need, but I think thats enough

Ya the engine does look great!! Oh well musta saw another rex here oh and BTW get a can of engine degreaser and spray that sucka all over the block (cept the important stuff ) wash it off, get some 220grit sand paper and scratch it some then spray a few coats of 1200 degree paint (color your choice) on it and it'll be set for quite awhile

well..I didnt even 220 it to be honest...I used a brillo scratch pad type deal while I was cleaning with the degreaser...kinda scratched and cleaned at the same time...then sprayed it all off with some water and wiped it dry. Then hit it with some paint quick. Anything you do will look suprisingly good cause the motor is so hidden in there anyways...not like huge surface area visible, so it won't look bad if there is imperfections. It should last for a while with no problems...HOWEVER>>>>DOES NOT WORK THE SAME WITH HEADER My header is like pink now lolol. Time for some sandblasting or something and try something different. Heat flaked some of that paint then turned the rest this WACK color....kinda gross

here's the whole car...you mighta seen me drivin around or somethin, but doubt it
only put about 200 miles on it since repaint a couple weeks ago

Back on track again tho, this is my old LS, my buddy painted this block gunmetal and put it in his hatchback...only pic I have left of it...hard to tell, but it was really nice! He had a red powder coated valve cover and like I said...gunmetal block
