Default 5 speed conversion

Im interested in doing a 5 speed conversion on my GF's 90 civic EX 4 door. As far as i know, all i would need to do the complete conversion is:

Transmission
clutch pedal assembly
shift linkage
clutch, PP and flywheel.
clutch cable

I just talked to my friend and he said something about having to cut for shift linkage, and some BullSh*t. i've got a doner car, so i need to know if it'll bolt up so i can get started.
