Default Front Camber?

How do you check for off camber on front other than checking the tires?

Checking the wear on the tires may not give an indication of excessive camber. In fact alot of inside wear could mean your toe is off.

You need some sort of camber gauge. There are cheap ones and not so cheap ones. Smart Camber for example, will run you a couple hundred bucks with all the bells and whistles. This is actually the one for smaller wheels (kart/formula car) but you get the idea:

You can get them through racer supply houses like Truechoice, RacerPartsWholesale, Pegasus Auto Racing, etc.

Or just take it to an alignment shop...

Get a block of wood and a level. Put the block of wood, (length wise) against your wheels, and the level on the other side. Won't give you degress, but you can kinda see how it is.
