boost setting with hondata

boost setting with hondata
Am I able to run different boost settings with the hondata. Or do i have to always run the same boost since the map is set for that. And if I do want to change it do i have to get it re-tuned for the different boost pressure?

you can run different boost levels IF you get your car tuned.
let's take for example that you go and get your car tuned for 11 psi, well your tuner should have covered all the columns on the map UP TO 11psi. So you can boost lower then 11psi BUT not higher.
Another example would be that you got your car tuned for 14psi, well then you should only boost from the limit that your wastegate sets (let's say 7psi) to 14psi. But never go above 14psi

but wouldn't you be running rich if your boosting 7 psi on a car tuned for 14psi? I mean hondata is a rom chip burned into your ecu, one its tuned for say 14 psi thats how much fuel it adds etc.

No. Your maps are good up to 14 psi.

A standalone like Hondata allows you to have a seperate boost-dependent fuel map that controls fueling in relation to boost. It doesn't dump the amount of fuel needed to support 14psi all the time, just when you're actually boosting 14psi. If you're boosting 7psi, then you'll get enough fuel to run 7psi.
